Pierpont’s Phil Morabito Honored with Legacy Award
Pierpont’s CEO and Founder Phil Morabito was honored as the 2017 Legacy Award winner at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Excalibur Awards Gala in Houston on June 29, 2017.
The annual PRSA Houston Excalibur awards event recognized the most outstanding accomplishments in the development and execution of comprehensive public relations programs and individual tactics. The prestigious Legacy Award honors a distinguished professional for outstanding lifetime achievement in the field of public relations. Morabito joins an elite group of 18 others, who have previously received this award.
Morabito has more than 30 years of experience in public relations and marketing, beginning with the firm of Robert Marston & Associates. He founded Pierpont Communications in 1987 after leaving New York City and a prestigious Madison Avenue public relations firm. Hiring his first employee in 1992, he now oversees the state’s largest independent integrated marketing and PR firm–with offices in Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.
Passionate about education, Morabito is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Bauer School of Business, where he teaches integrated marketing communications to graduate students. He was selected as the 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Houston Partnership CEO Roundtables for small businesses. In 2006, he was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Services category. Under his leadership, Pierpont has consistently been named a “Best Place to Work” and in 2005 was named Houston’s No. 1 Best Places to Work by the Houston Business Journal.
